TWD & BWJ: French Apple Tart

Gaye hosts this week's recipe for French Apple Tart for the Tuesdays with Dorie baking group. You will be able to find the recipe here.  Although there are a lot of steps to making this tart and it is time consuming, it really is a straight forward recipe and no special equipment is needed.  I don't have a tart pan, so I made a French Apple Pie.
I will say that this is one delicious, tart and the crust is the flakiest crust I've ever made. I didn't have high hopes as I baked this; I didn't have the right pan, the filling was very lumpy and both the crust and the finished pie took twice as long to bake as the recipe said it should. Still, this recipe is a keeper.

  1. Your pie/tart looks terrific. I didn't buy the lumps are okay until I tasted mine! I liked it. The recipe is a keeper! Kristine

  2. Your pie looks wonderful. I was anxious making this as well, as it seemed so fancy. But I'm so glad I tried it. It really is a great recipe.

  3. Love this one too! I liked the chunky filling. I have read that some bakers used applesauce or processed their filling in a blender. I will be making this again.

  4. Your tart is beautiful.
This is a nice pie dough to work with.
